Can you provide a brief introduction of yourself and your project within the FRONTIErS DN?

I’m Mohsin Ara Toma, currently working at NGI, have 6 years of experience in the offshore energy industry. I’m going to join the project called “CENCYC” Centrifuge testing of cyclic loading of foundations: effect of cyclic load ratio and installation method.

What motivated you to apply to FRONTIErS DN?

FRONTIErS DN offers the most effective combination for my long-term career goals which involves interesting and extremely relevant research topics, possible collaborations and long-term involvement in the area of research even after the program.

What drives your passion for the work you have done so far and the work you will do within FRONTIErS?

The work I have done so far allowed me to learn and grow in the field where I got my education, and also get the opportunity to contribute to small-scale knowledge development. I hope FRONTIErS work will be an even steeper learning curve for me, which will enable me to contribute to more effective knowledge development.

How do you believe collaboration enhances the effectiveness of FRONTIErS DN?

Collaboration enables access to the right resources at the right time and enhances effectiveness in achieving goals.

Can you share any personal stories or experiences that have shaped your decision to apply?

I have been working among highly driven people from academia who are now working in the industry. I can see how extensive research experience shapes the perspective of problem-solving thought processes. I am inspired by my colleagues and this opportunity appeared right on time.

What are your future goals and aspirations as a member of the FRONTIErS DN?

My goal is to learn as much as possible during these 3 years to achieve good results and take the acquired skills and lessons to further research opportunities.

How do you envision your role evolving and contributing to the FRONTIErS DN success?

I see an opportunity to utilize my academic and industry background towards efficient project development and effective communication to achieve results.

How do you anticipate your MSCA fellowship will impact your broader career aspirations?

My long-term career goal is to contribute to research and development that works towards solutions to various challenges within the industry. This MSCA fellowship allows collaboration with various parts of the industry and academia, which I will be able to utilize for the rest of my career.

What message or key takeaway would you like to convey to the public about FRONTIErS?

It is indeed a great feeling to be a part of such a precious journey. I’m looking forward to starting mine.
